The Role

Land Capability Division is undergoing a period of significant change as Defence acquisition transitions to a more programmatic, integrated and holistic approach to capability development.

This requires innovative thinking, professionalism, change management and stakeholder engagement skills and an ability to achieve results.

To help us achieve this, we need a professional, innovative, resilient Divisional Personnel Manager responsible for the effective and efficient management of Divisional level personnel and establishment management on behalf of the Chief of Staff, Land Capability Division.

The role itself will also be responsible for the coordination of a blended staff environment of military, contractor and public servants that make up a collective group in support of the six Branches within Land Capability Division.

Finally, you will be responsible for a small dynamic team consisting of two personnel with a significant remittance of responsibilities ranging from, but not limited to, personnel management, welfare, Divisional security and organisational administration.

About our Team
The team is newly established to keep pace with the ever-changing Land Capability Division personnel and administrative environment.

Through extant Defence Strategic Review, direction and additional information expected the role that personnel and establishment management within Land Capability Division cannot be under stated.

Land Capability Division is a high paced, high tempo environment that is essentially responsible for modernising and sustaining the Australian Army.

The evolution of the team will be expected to reach final operating capability in a short time post inception and development to ensure that Land Capability Division is supported for future requirements and deliverables with the ability to pivot and change requirements at short notice.

Land Capability Division is looking for a dynamic individual with the drive and commitment to manage complex tasks in a busy and changing working environment.

We will assess your suitability for the role against the following selection criteria:

  • The personal drive, resilience and resourcefulness to achieve results in a dynamic environment.
  • Welldeveloped leadership skills that will allow you to lead a complex, integrated team made up of APS, ADF and/or contractor staff.
  • The ability to build and sustain internal and external working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • The ability to think strategically and innovatively and drive change to align actions with broader organisational needs.
