NATSEC Project 001 is a multi-million dollar project that will move our client forward in this ever-changing technological world.

Currently the project has a team of around 60 persons and is looking to increase to around 80 persons as soon as possible.

The project started in Nov 21 and is scheduled to conclude in Sep 23, with opportunities to extend.


The project incorporates modern engineering practices and is designed to create an automated service using technology from vendors including: HPE, CISCO, VMware, Splunk and Atlassian.


Role Responsibilities

  • Leading all aspects of software release and version management.
  • Planning, testing, tracking, release, deployment, communication, and risk management.
  • Scheduling the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release.
  • Working closely with developers and automation engineers
  • Ensuring the automated delivery of capability that is tested, packaged, and released according to stringent quality and capability gates.
  • Creation of plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule and within any defined change management processes.
  • Plan and provide weekly updates on the release activities.

Essential Experience

  • 2+ years' experience in software release management.
  • Experience working with automation within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with git and equivalent code management tools.
  • Experience working on software development projects.
  • Experience in Government Secure Environments.
  • Experience managing release engineers and working collaboratively with test teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Working in multidiscipline Agile teams.
  • Working in a project environment below the line.
  • Working in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Automation using languages such as Python, Bash and PowerShell.
  • Experience with digitally signing artefacts for release.
  • Experience with artefact repositories.
  • Source control management & operations.
  • Experience working with Docker and containerisation.
  • Strong understanding of testing and code quality automation.

Desirable Qualities

  • Display strong written communication skills for required. documentation and influential communication to the client.
  • Able to build strong rapport with team members and genuinely care about their success.
  • Proven ability to work to a project schedule and achieve successful clientfocused outcomes.
  • Understanding of E8 and conforming with ISM requirements
  • Ability to aggregate information to present a "plan on a page."
  • Strong communication abilities and able to communicate with clients autonomously.
  • Securityfirst mindset
  • Positive attitude towards change, continuous improvement and incrementally helping others.
  • Desire to continue their own learning journey.
