  • Anglo American Steelmaking Coal**Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blastfurnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
**Job Description

  • Job Description**The Operational Risk Management Specialist will provide technical support during the implementation and execution of the operational risk management standards and processes in Steelmaking Coal (SMC).


This is a full-time permanent role based in our Brisbane Corporate Office with flexible working arrangements available and frequent site travel required.

The role will be rewarding and varied and will involve the following:

  • Layer 1 Assurance over Risk Management Activities with a focus on quality risk assessments
  • Monitor Critical Control monitoring activity completion, repeat deficiencies, trends in CC performance and support sites in managing compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the selection, scoping, facilitation, and participation in all levels of risk management.
  • Engage with and participate in Group and BU led Operational Risk Management (ORM) initiatives.
  • Complete the annual review of the BCO ORM Self-Assessment and guide operations in completion of annual reviews.
  • Ensure continual improvement, development, and implementation of the ORM Module in Isometrix, including BU Hazard Inventory uploads, SMC Bowtie Updates, Critical Control inspection scheduling.
  • Manage and facilitate the Baseline Risk Management Process across SMC
  • Ensure adequate Priority Unwanted Event (PUE) identification and implementation of Minimum Mandated Critical Controls (MMCCs) across SMC.
  • Facilitate Bowtie Risk Assessments for BU.
  • Facilitate workshops to review and develop critical control specifications.
  • Support update of site Hazard Inventory in Isometrix.
**Qualifications

  • Qualifications*
  • Qualification in an Engineering, Applied Sciences or Safety and Health field.
  • Qualifications in Operational Risk Management will be highly regarded.
  • Qualifications relating to international systems accreditation (ISO14001:2015 / ISO45001) will be highly regarded.
  • G2 & G3 Risk Management.

Role-Specific Knowledge

  • Detailed knowledge of Safety & Health and risks as well as a thorough understanding of operations.
  • Expert knowledge of Operational Risk Management process
  • Demonstrable experience facilitating different types of risk assessments.
  • Experience working with ORM IT Systems, including BTXP.

  • Location: Moranbah North Mine
  • Roster even time roster day shift only
  • DIDO, FIFO and Residential with subsidised accommodation options available
