- Be responsible for leading the Finance Reporting and Controls Team in the delivery of their duties and ensuring the efficient administration of Council's finance systems and functions
- Be responsible for ensuring that all regulatory accounting and statutory obligations are met, accounting standards abided by and internal controls are in place.
- Have the ability to think laterally, have an ability to form organisation-wide relationships, and be able to lead and develop a high performing, cohesive team to ensure we are achieving the Finance unit's objectives.
- Degree in Business, Commerce or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in a senior finance/accounting position.
- Post Graduate qualifications in Accounting (CA or CPA)
- Experience in maintaining financial systems and processes.
- Experience in the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
- Current Class C Driver's Licence
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)

About the role
This permanent, full-time position sits within Council's City Performance Directorate, working 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm) at the Nowra Administration Building.
The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.
