    This is a pool recruitment process (Ref This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities.

    There is currently one (1) permanent full-time position available.

    POSITION OBJECTIVE

    This role coordinates effective and efficient day-to-day operation of authorised Community Engagement Division social media accounts, and the use of digital content used across these accounts and other platforms including websites. Identifies opportunities and methods to enhance digital communications via social media and other platforms.

    APPLICATION PROCESS

    Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages:

    • Ability in the use of social media, media marketing - Understanding and applying social media channels to reach and engage with audiences. Utilising social media management tools to schedule content and monitor activities. Understanding where social media fits into the communication mix and using social media appropriately. Applying innovation and integrating social media with other public information functions.
    • Communication and interpersonal skills - Undertaking creative writing for social media. Using digital content to amplify messaging. Writing reports, plans and training materials. Presenting verbally to groups. Consulting effectively with internal and external stakeholders within the public and private sector. Responding appropriately in high pressure situations. Communicating appropriately to the demographic.
    • Research skills - Researching issues and trends to provide advice and evidence-based recommendations. Measuring success of social media messaging. Connecting usage data to outcomes to improve work practices. Generating reports. Reporting on social media topics.

    Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

    The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant's ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

    Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.

    OTHER CONDITIONS

    In addition to the above mentioned vacancy, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as 'suitable' at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.

    Once an applicant from the POOL accepts a permanent position via this selection process, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL and will continue to be considered for permanent opportunities as they arise.

    Where an applicant in the POOL declines an opportunity (either permanent or temporary), that applicant may forfeit their right to be considered before other suitable applicants who were identified to be less competitive.

    Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
