About Us


The Food Futures Institute is one of Murdoch University's research institutes, working to provide solutions on the sustainable use of limited land and water resources to improve food, forestry, and fibre production economically and ethically.


The Centre for Crop and Food Innovation represents a collaboration of academic research staff working with industry partners to provide both strength and depth in research on major broadacre and horticultural crops to improve yield, quality and enhance tolerance and protection from biological and environmental stresses.

Centre for Crop and Food Innovation comprises a team of academic and research staff and over 50 current HDR students and is ideally placed to capitalise on new technologies and investments in crop agriculture.

The State Agricultural Biotechnology is the collaborative university Centre for R&D in agricultural and veterinary biotechnology in Western Australia.

It provides platform technologies and world class equipment and facilities for R&D in agricultural biotechnology to researchers from universities, state government and industry.


The Role- Develop media contents for various media outlets, reports and briefs, newsletters, video scripts, correspondence, and social media posts for various projects and centres.- Undertake research to provide and inform evidence-based content.- Assist Director, Centre for Crop and Food Innovation, and Director, State Agricultural Biotechnology Centre to develop Annual Reports, organise conferences, workshops, meetings, training courses, and enhance visibility of centres.- Edit and proofread communication materials and other documents- Collaborate with team members across the Institute and University to ensure consistency of content.- Carry out, and assist with, other duties as required.


What you'll bring to this role- Completion of undergraduate tertiary qualification, with subsequent relevant experience.- Experience working with management (preferably in a research organisation) in a complex environment. Proven record of excellent research and analytical skills in agriculture especially in genomics and biotechnology.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail- Experience in building constructive working relationships throughout an organisation and collaborators with diverse backgrounds- Proven ability to establish priorities and manage competing deadlines- Ability to work effectively and collegially in a team, as well as independently, with mínimal support.- Applicants should refer to the Position Description for further details on the work requirements, duties, skills and experience required for this role.
