Group Procurement is responsible for the sourcing and ongoing commercial relationships of our suppliers including leading or supporting RFPs, supplier negotiations, contract development, contract reviews and contract executions.


In your role as Category Procurement Specialist, in our Operations and Commercial team, you will be responsible for planning and executing sourcing activities for the relevant category, in line with the Category Strategy and in consultation with Business Stakeholders.


The Category Procurement Specialist will ensure that appropriate procurement strategies are developed and applied to individual procurement projects, according to the overall Category Strategy as well as specific operational requirements.

You will take responsibility for sourcing activities within your category, seeing them through from inception to contract execution. You will contribute to the development of the Category Strategy, working closely with the Category Manager.

You'll have

  • A minimum 3 years strategic sourcing, category management and procurement
  • Tertiary qualifications in Procurement or Business Management
  • Sound project management, influencing, communication and negotiation skills, including across a range of cultures and diverse language environments.
  • Able to demonstrate skills in influencing stakeholders, building effective business relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Leading negotiations
  • Sound leadership skills with some ability in running cross functional projects/teams, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment.
  • Able to interpret and execute category strategies, analyse data and markets, professionally present findings and recommendations.
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and a passion for delivering commercially astute outcomes
  • Flexibility and creativity
  • Innovative in approach and a willingness to challenge existing paradigms.
  • Attainment of or a pathway to further professional certification, including MCIPS, highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of airport ground services, multiteam/multidependent and complex operational environments and successcritical supply categories will be highly beneficial
