An exciting opportunity has arisen for a

Community Relations Advisor to join our Golden Grove HSEC team. Reporting to the HSEC Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating all community and heritage related activities at Golden Grove. The role includes the coordination of the Indigenous Training Program and activities on Muralgarra Station. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and experienced team. This is a permanent position, offered on flexible FIFO from either Perth or Geraldton.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Development and Implementation of Community Investment Strategy aligning with 29Metals Performance Management Standards, inclusive of socioeconomic impact assessment for Yalgoo Region;
  • Coordination of Community engagement and initiatives in consultation with the HSEC Manager;
  • Coordination of annual community sponsorship in consultation with the HSEC Manager, making sponsorship recommendations and overseeing the implementation of sponsorship programs;
  • Responsible for updating and improving Stakeholder Engagement Plan to identify key projects and deliverables for 2023/2024;
  • Development of Social Closure Plan that integrates with mine closure plan;
  • Direction with preemployment indigenous training program, ensuring course content is relevant to current job market requirements;
  • Coordination of all heritage related activities on site, in consultation with the HSEC Manager and Senior Environmental Advisor;
  • Maintains relationships with Traditional Owner and Native Title Groups in consultation with the HSEC Manager and General Manager Operations and engages with groups regularly to conduct Cultural Awareness Training;
  • Coordination of management of Muralgarra Station in consultation with the HSEC Manager;
  • Manage and record all cultural heritage and social performance commitments;
  • Maintains relationships with the Pastoral Lands Board (PLB), Shire of Yalgoo and other pastoralists to ensure best outcomes for station management.

What we are looking for:


  • 5+ years' experience in community and heritage roles;
  • Previous experience in similar roles in the mining industry;
  • Previous experience in coordinating pastoral station activities;
  • Strong knowledge of community and heritage practices and principles;
  • Strong understanding of pastoral station management;
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification or similar;
  • The ability to communicate complex solutions to a variety of customer stakeholders;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • Sound report and procedural documentation writing skills;
  • Pastoral station management skills.
