About the role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Performing urine drug and alcohol, and oral fluid drug testing including all routine procedures associated with day to day running within the toxicology laboratory
Operate and perform maintenance on laboratory instrumentation including immunoassay and LCMS.
Compliance with records maintenance and recording of results in line with protocols
Ensure GLP and laboratory conformance to AS/NZS 4308:2008 and AS/NZS 4760:201
Assist laboratory manager to ensure laboratory compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.
Maintaining all equipment and operating equipment in line with protocols
Participation in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities.
Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
Liaising with internal and/ or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary

About you

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
At minimum hold a Pathology Technician's certificate, an Associate Diploma of Medical Technology, or equivalent
Graduates from Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemistry, forensic science) or equivalent seeking entry into toxicology
Knowledge and/or experience working with immunoassay and mass spectrometry techniques is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting is desirable
Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision
An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member
Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
Selfinitiative and problemsolving capabilities

This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases

Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
