Library Officer
Join our dynamic and innovative Library Operations Team as a Library Officer Information Technology, primarily based at
Hurstville Library.

In this role you will combine your technology and customer experience skills to provide training and support for staff and library customers.

You will be working closely with the Team Leader, Library Information Technology to collect statistics, analyse data and prepare reports relating to Library Information Technology systems and services.

As part of our Cultural Engagement & Library Services Business Unit, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operations of Georges River Libraries, delivering high-quality, customer-focused services, resources, programs, and systems.


Position Details

Primarily based at Hurstville Library (with requirement to work across all Georges River Libraries as required)

  • Temporary (Until September 2024), Part Time 42 hours per fortnight
  • Salary range:$42, $49,255.78 per annum plus 11% superannuation

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide training and instructional programs to staff and library customers regarding technology, online resources, library systems and processes.
  • Provide support for library technology including mobile devices, computers, printers and RFID equipment.
  • Assist the maintenance of the library's online content including websites, social media and eResources.
  • Assist the collection and reporting of data relating to the systems and services provided by the Library Information Technology Team.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • TAFE Diploma qualification in Library and Information Science or equivalent library experience
  • NSW Class C Driver's License
  • Demonstrated experience in library and information services
  • Experience in delivering effective library services, programs, and events
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with preparing reports, summarising data and providing training
  • Customerfocused approach to service delivery
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical, time management, organizational, and problemsolving skills
