About the Team


As part of our dedicated and high performing Environment & Planning Directorate, the Development and Building team are responsible for the delivery of Building Code of Australia requirements and Building certification, Development Assessment and Pre-lodgment and specialist advice.

The department facilitates quality, compliant, sustainable development across the LGA ranging from established urban areas, through to urban renewal activity centres, future growth areas and environmental sensitive significant areas.

About the Opportunity and what we can offer you

  • Permanent, Full time 70 hours per fortnight
  • Salary from $91, $105,765.05 per annum plus 11% superannuation

Selection Criteria:

Qualifications, Certificates & Licences

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related discipline
  • NSW Class C Driver's Licence
Essential

  • Current knowledge of Building and Town Planning practices, especially in Local Government.
  • Experience in local government, building or planning organisations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with the community, the Councillors and other professionals involved in the development industry.
  • Skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other Departments.
  • Strong task management and time management skills.
  • Ability to present accurate, clear, concise and timely reports on matters effecting the Directorate's operations.
  • Ability to implement new planning concepts and procedures.
  • Possess good negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of WH&S and EEO policies and procedures.
