About the role


The purpose of this position is to provide quality and safety data and reporting to support effective clinical governance and quality improvement and the Women's.

The role includes oversight of the clinical audit schedule, reporting from the Victorian Hospital Incident Management System (VHIMS), and optimising reporting from the EPIC Electronic Medical Record as well as other data and reporting systems.

Strong working relationships are critical to the success of this position, including partnering with both clinical and non-clinical service leaders and providers.


A major part of the role will be to provide expertise, exemplary knowledge and skills in the management and continuous improvement of Quality and Safety systems for data collection, analysis and reporting to inform clinical governance decision making and prioritise areas for improvement.


A regular day will see you:

  • Manage and continuously improve the collection, analysis and reporting of quality and safety metrics from various data sources across the organisation.
  • Prepare reports that inform quality and safety decision making and support robust clinical governance practice.
  • Support and direct stakeholders in the identification and access to the most relevant / appropriate data source for their specific requirements
  • Assist in the preparation, interpretation and analysis of information, reports and data as required including clinical outcomes, clinical audit data, clinical incident data and other data sources as required.
  • Support quality improvement activities across the Women's through the provision and analysis of data drawn from the available clinical data sources.

About you

You'll bring with you:

  • A Bachelor level degree in a field relevant to the position or experience working in a clinical discipline e.g. medicine, nursing, midwifer, pharmacy or allied health, with significant experience in data management
  • Extensive experience and expert knoweldge in data access, extraction, management, analysis, interpretation and reporting from a range of sources,
  • High level communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Well developed writing skills, with extensive evidence of report writing.
  • Well developed interpersonal and teamworking skills and a high level of comfort working with a broad spectrum of people encompassing, staff, stakeholders and consumers.
