Description

Provide management to the State-wide Services team through leadership in the development, implementation and review of systems and processes to ensure the efficient functioning of the unit.


  • Ensure ministerial and executive requests are responded to in an effective and timely manner, including reviewing and critically evaluating documentation and data to ensure quality, relevance, appropriateness and compliance with departmental and relevant whole of government guidelines.
  • Lead the operational work of the unit, staffing establishment and budget, as well as ICT and financial services aspects including those related to the fee for service model for PBSPs such as invoice preparation, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Provide authoritative, strategic and operational advice to the Director-PBSRP on finance, human resources and administration matters impacting the unit.
  • Ensure effective management and monitoring of the PBSRP budget and establishment in accordance with statutory responsibilities, government priorities and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate leadership in a dynamic and change impacted work area, focussed on service excellence and future focus, including by planning and delivering financial and ICT needs.
  • Prepare and draft high quality management reports and briefings.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with other areas of the Division and the Department, including Business Services, HR and Finance.
  • Plan, organise and manage the unit's responsibilities, including fostering a professional environment to encourage commitment, ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Support clinical and administrative staff through provision of advice to ensure they are able to perform their obligations including core management and departmental responses and enquiries.
  • Contribute effectively to the Government's and department's priorities and reform agenda.
  • Contribute to the building and maintenance of the culture of the unit to support the vision and values of the Department and to achieve agency objectives.
