Quality Inspector to join their team.
The Welding Quality Inspector position reports to the Project Manager and HSEQ Manager and will work across all divisions as required.
This is a hands-on position that requires close and effective working relationships with manufacturing, engineering, assembly & test, project management, administration, purchasing and warehousing.
The Quality Inspector is responsible for overall management of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes at the companies Henderson project site.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Managing the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) system
- Welding and coatings inspections, advice, and recommendations to production teams.
- Develop and maintain Weld Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
- Documenting internal quality assurance activities.
- Collecting and compiling statistical quality data.
- Recording, developing, recommending, and monitoring corrective and preventive actions.
- Managing the rework registers.
- Preparing reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
- Monitoring risk management activities regarding quality and maintaining the quality risk register.
- Assuring compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with Engineering Team to manage quality throughout the design process.
- Working closely with the Production Manager & Supervisors to manage quality throughout the production process.
- Quality checks on incoming project related materials.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years' quality experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Mechanical engineering experience (degree highly regarded)
- Certified welding inspector (AWS/CSWIP/IWI-B or similar)
- Strong commitment to quality principles
- Experience in ISO 9001 systems
- Highly articulate with excellent attention to detail
- A high level of organisational and time management skills
- Advance Computer skills using Microsoft Office software
