    SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER, KABLAMO

    Reports to: Dee Behan Location: Sydney, Australia

    INTRODUCTION

    Kablamo designers are our clients' visual visionaries. They are a creative bunch of thinkers and innovative problem solvers who work end-to-end across projects and act at the intersection between business, people, and technology.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    As a Senior Product Designer, you will have a strong background in user interaction design, you will have an opportunity to set up and operationalise component libraries and design systems, and you will influence changes in user behaviour through ideas, creativity, and UI design.

    You will bring exceptional design thought to Kablamo, delivering projects in partnership with the client, strategic direction, and technology. You will also be expected to guide and mentor other designers on the team, taking them under your wing to drive progression.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS

    Learn new skills, stay abreast of technical and digital design developments, and successfully apply these to work practices to improve processes and procedures.

    Assist in the vision for and delivery of award-winning work that influences change through ideas, creativity, and design expertise.

    Develop, maintain and evolve designs with the broader team, ensuring a consistent visual language across digital touchpoints that stays ahead of industry trends.

    Work with and contribute to design thinking, iterating to improve and enhance the product or experience.

    High-level internal and external client and team satisfaction.

    High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Participate (when required) in pitches and proposals.

    Execute innovative and effective digital communications, interface design and interaction design experiences across all digital platforms.

    Contribute to asset management, collation and archiving.

    Comfortable presenting ideas to clients and peers.

    Contribute to growing Kablamo Studio's design culture by participating in design critiques and advocacy.

    DAY-TO-DAY

    Audit existing experiences and upcoming design work to identify patterns ready to be codified as design system components.

    In collaboration with UX, Product and Engineering, prioritise and build new design system features.

    Design components with a focus on accessibility and usability.

    Build and maintain easy-to-use Figma components for designers

    Document best practices and usage guidelines to help designers and engineers understand how, why, and when to use specific components or patterns

    Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to mentor and advocate for high design standards at Kablamo

    Socialise design system process, features, philosophy and expectations across Kablamo, including senior stakeholders.

    QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

    Proven experience working as a designer, including digital and user interface design and design systems experience.

    Experience in an agile environment, working closely with Product and Dev teams

    Highly experienced with Figma

    A degree in design, interaction design, visual studies or other design-related fields is preferred.

    Creating, redesigning or refreshing a distinct digital identity for a product or service

    Understanding of design systems, design processes and front-end implementation.

    A solid grasp of design fundamentals, including typography, illustration animation and typography.
