The Y, Brisbane has many services tailored to the needs of the communities including Schools' Breakfast Program, Vocational Schools, Cancer Survivors Program, Community Centres, Affordable Housing, Youth Mentoring and more.


One of the many services that we are very proud to provide for the community is our Outside School Hours Care Service with more than 50 services across Queensland.


We are currently recruiting for a
Coordinator on a
full-time basis, 38 hours per week to join our team at our
YMCA Hilder Road Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
Service.



Your workspace at the Y
The Y OSHC head office is based in Stafford, providing administrative and operational support.


YMCA Hilder Road Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
Service is located inside of Hilder Road State School in the Gap. The service is licensed for 77 children and offer Before and After School Care as well as Vacation Care.

Our service philosophy prioritises community and belonging, children's agency and the importance of spontaneous, multi-age play in middle childhood.

We offer a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences for children and welcome educators with unique skill sets to share with children.

As an OSHC Coordinator you will assist with:

  • The development of quality programs;
  • Manage the day to day running of the programs;
  • Coordinate staffing and rostering of staff;
  • Ensure compliance with policy;
  • Undertake administrative requirements;
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community

SELECTION CRITERIA:


  • Completed (or close to completion) of relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services);
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare;
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain;
  • Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain.
  • NQF knowledge would be advantageous.
