Where you'll be working
Whilst based at Royal North Shore Hospital, will be required to cover all hospitals across NSLHD.


What you'll be doing

The primary purpose of the role is to:

  • Provide radiation protection advice and support for all aspects of the use or unsealed radioactive sources and irradiating devices of NSLHD and associated institutes on the LHD campus sites.
  • Provide radiation safety advice, support and education for all NSLHD staff.
  • Assess and advise on the appropriate use of radiation safety as used in animal and human research studies in the LHD.
  • Ensure NSLHD compliance with all legislative and statutory requirements pertaining to radiation safety.

_People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply__._**- Registration (or eligible for) on the Medical Physics Specialist Register of the ACPSEM in Nuclear Medicine Physics or Radiation Safety.

  • Documented experience and training in Radiation Physics, Radiation Protection and related sciences.
  • Familiarity with Radiation Control Act, ARPANSA requirements and other legislation relating to the use of unsealed sources of radioactivity.
