The Prevention of Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y) Program is a global injury and risk awareness, prevention, and behaviour changing education program.

Expressions of Interest are being sought for a P.A.R.T.Y Program Coordinator - Clinical Nurse Consultant for the Royal North Shore (RNSH) Trauma Service.

This is an initial 2-year temporary position with the continuation of the position depending on external funding.


Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital.

The co-ordinator will work as part of the supportive RNSH trauma service team and report to the Trauma Director, Nurse Manager, and District CNC's.

RNSH is the tertiary referral centre for major trauma victims in the Northern Sydney and Central Coast Local Health districts.

In addition, it is a state-wide referral centre for Burns and Spinal Injuries. The P.A.R.T.Y. coordinator's role is pivotal to the successful implementation and continued operation of the programs across the district.


What you'll be doing

The Prevention of Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y) Program is a global injury and risk awareness, prevention, and behaviour changing education program.

It aims to empower youth and adolescence with information about their choices and what they can do to reduce risk to themselves and others.

The intention is to reduce the incidence of preventable trauma and over representation of the youth and adolescence population in trauma statistics.

The CNC will formulate and develop the P.A.R.T. Y program and engage in related education and research activities.
The CNC is responsible for collaborating with the simulation center's staff, multidisciplinary teams (internal/external), and schools.
The CNC will act as a role model, and provide expert knowledge and guidance to staff, adolescents, and youth.

_People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply__._**- A Registered Nurse who has recent critical care experience and a minimum of 5 years full time post graduate employment. The applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification.

  • Recent experience in a tertiary care facility.
  • Demonstrated experience with research activities, developing and implementing education programs, and project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and people from Government and Nongovernment agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
