    Description

    The Enterprise Intelligence Solution Architect is responsible for providing expertise and thought leadership for planning, management, formulation and development of Solution Architectures in the specialised areas of data and intelligence.

    The role is business outcome focussed and drives innovation and agility through solutions that will deliver business and technology change/s in support of core organisational functions, business strategies, Digital strategies and operational Enterprise Architecture plans.

    The Solution Architect Key Accountabilities are:

    • Provide expert advice in Solution Architecture and document supporting Designs that focus on business objectives and creation of value;
    • Develop and manage relationships with key clients and the Digital leadership team to support the identification, coordination and planning of services to ensure they are kept in strategic alignment;
    • Ensuring that new initiatives and projects are identified, defined and aligned with the organisations business plans and strategies;
    • Identification, resolution and management of any Solution Architecture issues or exemptions;
    • Provision of "internal consulting" expertise to staff in respect of technology architectures;
    • Provision of appropriate advice regarding architecture options to the appropriate forums and stakeholders across digital and the business;
    • Production of Solution Architecture design artefacts;
    • Negotiation of best possible business and technological outcomes; and
    • Delivering Architecture solutions that are developed to reflect the required integrations across the Digital group.

    Selection Criteria

    Selection of the successful bid will be based on the following criteria:

    Essential Criteria

    • Significant solutions architect experience in delivering large scale data platforms across both on premise and cloud environments;
    • Significant experience in designing and building out enterprise level data models and data pipelines;
    • Successful delivery of data migration initiatives;
    • Experienced in the design of data quality management frameworks;
    • Demonstrated understanding of modern data and analytic tools and languages such as:
      • Databricks;
      • PowerBI;
      • Alation;
      • Fivetran;
      • AWS data-related services;
      • Python;
      • Terraform;
    • Experience with working in large, complex organisations;
    • Demonstrated experience working with data governance functions and teams; and
    • Ability to elicit business and architectural information from stakeholders to inform and document solution designs.

    Desirable Criteria

    • Hands on experience in implementing data ingestion routines both real time and batch using best practices in data modelling, ETL / ELT processes by leveraging AWS technologies and big data tools;
    • Experience in both modernising data platforms with cloud solutions and optimising existing data environments;
    • Software engineering background with coding ability in languages like Python / Scala;
    • AWS cloud certification (preferred);

    Duration

    12 month contract with the option to extend.

    Reporting Structure

    The role will report to the Business Analysis & Initiation Lead.
