Do you want to become part of our Perioperative Service Department team?


John Fawkner Private Hospital is currently seeking experienced Theatre Technicians to join our Perioperative Unit on a part time or full time basis.


As a member of our team you will play an important role, in providing high quality service to theatres and other clinical areas.

Key responsibilities will include:


  • Delivering excellent service and care to patients
  • Liaise within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven ability to work well within a team
  • Ensuring patient and staff safety
  • Sound knowledge of theatre equipment and safe use practices
  • Proven troubleshooting skills
  • Possess organisational skills and complete documentation to a high standard
  • Will adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures, contribute to the efficient, effective and economic running of the peri operative service.

John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne.

With 186 registered beds, an emergency department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed Critical Care Complex and a busy day surgery/endoscopy unit the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community.


The hospital's surgical specialities includes - orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, plastic surgery, ENT, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, maxilla-facial and gynaecology, as well as general medicine, oncology and cardiology.


Essential Criteria:


  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Theatre Technician or experience within a hospital environment
  • Working with Children check
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support) Desirable

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Victoria

  • Non Clinical Enterprise Agreement " (salaries range between $26.92 and $36.13/hr**)
