Are you a highly motivated Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator (RN) looking for a part time position?

As the Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator your responsibilities will include:

  • Overall responsibility and take a leadership role for Infection Prevention & Control practices and strategies.
  • Have a good understanding of Infection Prevention & Control practices, implementing risk management strategies to protect patients, staff and visitors, from acquiring a healthcare associated infection and provide a healthy working environment for all staff.
  • Ensuring the hospital operates in accordance with applicable standards and complies with regulatory and accreditation requirements as well as striving for continuous improvement.
  • The coordination and implementation of the infection control program to ensure high quality patient care and staff safety in the area of infection control
  • Assisting the external Infection Control Consultants (HICMR) in the implementation of the infection control management plan
  • The infection control education program
  • Overseeing the staff health program
  • Ensuring a safe practice and working environment for staff

Essential Criteria:


  • Authority to Work in Australia
  • Working with Children check (if relevant)
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
  • Immunisation certificate (or working towards) (Desirable)
  • Auditing skills
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
  • Selfmotivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
