The Company:
Lotus people are partnering with a prominent player within the FMCG industry who are looking to hire a skilled and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join their experienced finance team here in Sydney.
The Role:
This position will have a direct reporting line to the CFO and will be supported by an experienced team of finance professionals who have demonstrated long-term commitment to the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process local and international supplier invoices, expense reports, and payment requests accurately and efficiently.
- Act as main point of contact for a diverse array of manufacturers and thirdparty entities.
- Reconcile vendor statements and promptly resolve discrepancies.
- Allocating foreign currency contracts to payments.
- Tracking gains or losses from foreign exchange fluctuations.
- Collaborate with internal departments for proper coding and approval of invoices.
- Conduct periodic reviews of accounts payable processes for continuous improvement.
- Assist in monthend and yearend closing activities.
- Maintain positive relationships with international suppliers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Ad hoc support to the wider finance team such as checking and processing expenses.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field would be beneficial but not essential.
- Ideally 35 years' experience in accounts payable roles.
- Experience within the FMCG sector would be beneficial.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Experience with international suppliers and creditors is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
