The Team


An exciting opportunity exists to join a small fast-paced, high performing team that supports, prepares, and delivers federal events, and manages business as usual administration, governance, and project work for three Federal electoral divisions in the ACT.

The team is based in the Canberra CBD and is responsible for large scale state-based project delivery for electoral events.

\\Reporting to an APS6 Team Leader, you will be an active participant in the broader NSW/ACT leadership team, modelling exceptional behaviours and contributing to our culture, business planning and deliverables.

During the delivery of events, staffing levels rapidly expand to help manage greatly increased workloads. The team is fast-paced, dynamic, multifaceted, and project orientated.

The Opportunity


As an Assistant Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering major logístical events, setting expectations for the broader team, and preparing complex correspondence, reports and reviews.


Primary functions of the role include, managing and supporting all aspects of large-scale projects, managing a small team, which expands in size considerably during an event, and collaborating and communicating with key stakeholders.


During a federal event, you will act as an APS Level 6 Divisional Returning Officer for one of the ACT's three electoral divisions.

In this role, the Divisional Returning Officer's primary responsibility is to deliver the election in their prescribed electorate.
