Purchasing Officer - Melbourne, Australia - PERSOLKELLY
Description
Our client, a global leader in health & beauty research/ development, and production is looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join their team in Melbourne's South East.
This person will be responsible for global sourcing of food, supplements and pharmaceutical packaging material, managing global suppliers/partners, maintaining stock levels, negotiating contracts and prices for all services and products and ensuring peak stock holdings for production by forecasting and analysis of data.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Work with Planning, Purchasing & Warehousing team, understanding the demand and liase with suppliers for the delivery sourcing of packaging materials and raw materials in a timely manner
- Enter all details into SAP for smooth operation of organisation, execute purchase orders based on customer orders considering lead time
- Regularly meet with new and existing suppliers and maintain good relationship. Evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors.
- Continuously design and improve procurement processes liaising with other departments as required.
- Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are met, along with HSEQ Policies and Procedures. along with good housekeeping in all areas and maintains a high standard of cleanliness.
- Work with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) to ensure all quality matrices are met.
- Follows EH&S guidelines and immediately reports to relevant Manager any nonconformities.
- Bachelor's degree in related industry
- Experience in trading and purchasing
- Experience in Complementary Health industry is preferred or alternatively in a similar Manufacturing Industry e.g. pharmaceutical, food (essential)
- Happy to network and negotiate
- Strong analytical skills
- Solid systems and MRP Experience. MS Office
