The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) January 2007 - May 2009TradeStart is an Australian Government initiative that delivers Austrade services through local public sector and industry organisations throughout Australia. TradeStart Partners employ Advisers who are well versed in the needs of exporters and skilled in matters of international trade. These TradeStart Advisers have access to Austrade’s worldwide resources and systems.
The TradeStart Program:
•Promotes exporting, international business and the Australian Government’s trade agenda.
•Works co-operatively with other relevant agencies to maximise the international business success of TradeStart clients.
•Represents Austrade and provides access to the full range of its services for both existing and potential Austrade clients.
As the TradeStart Export Adviser at Penrith, I was responsible for the delivery of the Australian Government funded TradeStart New Exporter Development Program for first time exporters in the Western Sydney region.

Baxter Healthcare June 1973 - January 1976Responsible for both imports and exports of the company, which also included involvement with Letters of Credit and other banking formalities dealing with imports and exports.
Inwards and outwards movements were both intercompany and to arms length suppliers and customers, with our major export markets being New Zealand, South Pacific Islands, Asia and South America.
Within 6 months of joining, the company was to move from Rosebery (close to the Ports of Sydney and Botany as well as the Airport) to Toongabbie in Western Sydney. Responsible for analysing the clearance and delivery needs of varied product ranges and formulate a workable logistics strategy for imports and exports.
Worked co-operatively with departments such as Purchasing, Warehousing, Production, Sales and Marketing and Distribution.
