I am an experienced senior clinician with a strong background in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services, mental health, and wellbeing support. Since 2022, I have worked at Odyssey Victoria, where I was promoted to Senior AOD Clinician earlier this year. In this role, I lead comprehensive case formulations that assess substance use, mental health, and risk, ensuring tailored treatment pathways for clients with complex needs. My approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive, grounded in evidence-based counselling techniques. I collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, facilitate treatment readiness groups, and advocate for clients in legal settings. I am committed to child safety and organisational improvement, and in 2023, I was honoured with the Staff Choice Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Admissions Team.
In 2025, I expanded my expertise through a school counselling placement at McLelland College, supporting vulnerable students in Years 7–12. I provided therapeutic interventions, including CBT and strength-based approaches, conducted risk assessments, and created a safe, supportive environment for students to build resilience and autonomy.
Previously, as an Intake & Assessment Officer at Connect Health (2016–2022), I managed client intake processes, coordinated referrals, and supported harm reduction programs such as the Needle and Syringe Program. I also contributed to the organisation’s First Nations Reconciliation Action Plan and trained new staff, earning recognition for professionalism and teamwork.
My career (since migrating to Melbourne) began in communications as a Publications Officer at Loreto Toorak (2011–2016), where I designed marketing collateral and managed admissions campaigns, receiving awards for excellence in marketing and organisational efficiency, having been a Graphic Designer for several large companies in the UK since 1999.
Education
I am a dedicated Counsellor, Hypnotherapist and Senior AOD Clinician with a strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional development. My career is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed practice, complemented by a deep sense of cultural humility and authenticity. A seven-month placement at McLelland College, Frankston, ignited my passion for supporting adolescents, particularly young women, through challenges such as identity, self-esteem, suicidality, self-injury, bullying, and disordered eating.
As a mother of three First Nations teens and their peers, I bring unique insight into the complexities young people face. My lived experience – eight years of sobriety, surviving family violence, and overcoming breast cancer in 2023 – has shaped my ability to connect with clients in a transparent, non-judgmental way. This authenticity allows me to quickly build trust and create safe spaces for healing and growth.
Combined with tertiary qualifications, including a Bachelor of Counselling (2025), Diploma of Counselling Skills (2021) and advanced training in AOD (2023) and Hypnotherapy (2025), I offer an holistic approach that promotes resilience, autonomy, and empowerment. My practice is driven by empathy, ethical integrity, and a genuine desire to help individuals navigate life’s most challenging moments.
