About the Role

Vocus are seeking an experienced & collaborative Program Manager (Portfolio Leader) to join the Products and Programs team, leading a team of Project Managers delivering a number of distinct product focussed projects.

The role will have primary responsibility for the effective delivery, management and governance of the portfolio.

Working closely with the Head of Programs, and the relevant GM Sponsors, they will be responsible for ensuring the projects within their remit meet the agreed objectives, within approved budget and schedule.

The Portfolio Leaders will be required to maintain high standards for the delivery of projects by ensuring they are delivered using the Vocus standardised project management strategy, financial management and governance framework and security obligations.


This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based with hybrid working arrangements in either Melbourne, Victoria; Sydney, New South Wales; Brisbane, Queensland; Adelaide, South Australia OR Perth, Western Australia.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the end-to-end delivery of multiple, simultaneous projects including ensuring they are integrated and contribute towards a common strategy. Ensuring all projects within the portfolio are successfully monitored, documented, tracked, reported, and implemented.
  • Working with the Head of Programs, sponsors and business owners to document agreed outcomes and objectives, benefits, and establish benefit metrics and within the life of the project, monitor and report on benefit realisation.
  • Implementing appropriate governance frameworks for the projects within their portfolio ensuring sponsors are well informed of the progress of the projects they sponsor and can monitor the achievement of objectives.
  • Financial management of projects including forecasting, reporting and governance of financial obligations is accurate and timely.
  • Effectively controlling and proactively managing issues, risks, dependencies and changes in scope including managing cross project dependencies.
  • Coaching a team of two or more Project Manager or Project Coordinators to improve the quality of project management with a view to driving improvements and uplifting the capabilities including project management practice, scheduling, resource forecasting, vendor management, project documentation, communication and reporting.

About You

  • Strong project/program management experience delivering productbased technology initiatives telecommunications experience preferred
  • Strong experience creating and overseeing the delivery of largescale projects of substantial size and complexity;
  • Proven experience effectively managing & coaching a team of project employees operating within a complex multiplatform fast paced environment with multiple programs
  • Understanding of financial and program governance frameworks
  • Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing and managing budgets;
  • Proven ability to build positive working relationships and influence key stakeholders;
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
