Overview

  • The Insights & Analytics Lead delivers enterprisewide reporting and analytics solutions and leads the team of insight analyst and data scientist who will report to them.
  • This role interprets requirements from clients and business users to design and develop insightful analytics and reporting solutions, as well as providing expertise and guidance to internal and external clients in large analytical projects. This requires a mix of datarelated skills, particularly data manipulation, data analysis and data visualisation. In this role you lead a team and you are responsible for overseeing reporting and insights standards, client training and developing a consistent approach for dashboard
    Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities


  • Strategic Focus

  • Present ideas, results and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct research and benchmarking activities to inform improvement measures and define process improvement opportunities.
  • Champion analytics, visualisation solutions and best practice
  • Lead the creation of data visualisation standards across the team, enhancing organisational capabilities in data visualisation and associated techniques


  • Operational Management

  • Create and manage regular reports / dashboards, reporting on relevant trends and performance. Prioritise business and information needs, challenging conventional operating models to improve business performance.
  • Execute complex analytical tasks that provide actionable results to business users
  • Lead Client Translations of Data Science products
  • Provide a framework for the Client Training capability for the team
  • Develop a consistent approach for dashboard design taking into consideration client outcomes (client desires/needs)
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative and appealing userfriendly reports and dashboards in Power BI or Tableau
  • Contribute to the development of the data analytics selfservice capability
  • Executing against the Data and Analytics roadmap, including optimisation of the existing capability as well the introduction of new capabilities
  • Identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Determining business needs and drivers through stakeholder consultation and collaboration
  • Execute complex analytical tasks that provide actionable results to business users

  • Work to truly understand the business of your customers; understand their strategic goals and key issues, and then proactively identify how their data and your product can help them achieve their objectives
  • Keep up to date with latest trends and best practices in data analytics and data visualisation tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with people at all levels of the organisation and build strong relationship and trust with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Follow development guidelines adhering to documentation, source control and production releases

Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Strong data visualisation skills including the ability to deliver clear, targeted and impactful data visualizations and report user experience;
  • Tertiary qualification in statistics, mathematics, economics, physics, engineering, computer science or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an analytics role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with use of relational databases, SQL (or similar language) and data mining
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical software packages, such as, Python, R, SPSS
  • Understanding of predictive/analytical modelling techniques, theories, principle and practices
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI or other data visualisation tools
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience communicating analytical results to clients and nontechnical stakeholders


  • Desirable

  • Skills with of advanced statistical software packages, including usage of Python or R
