Your Role
The Compliance Officer (Graduate) plays an important role supporting the Compliance Manager.

Specifically supporting the Incident and Breach process, compliance policy development and maintenance and ASIC and APRA assurance to ensure the Australia and New Zealand businesses act in accordance with regulatory, industry, legal and company standards and requirements.

Your Responsibilities:


  • Analysing Incidents and Breaches for Australia and New Zealand. This includes ensuring regulatory timelines around identification, assessment and reporting are met.
  • Developing reporting and analysis for the Incident and Breach review panel.
  • Assist in the identification of any possible breaches of relevant legislation, regulations and obligations by the First Line.
  • Enhance compliance management across the First Line of Defence through the maintenance of effective stakeholder relationships through advice and developing the knowledge of the First Line and compliance matters to drive a proactive compliance culture.
  • Support compliance training initiatives by generating training content and supporting the provision of compliance training to business units and, where relevant, third party providers.
  • Support the Compliance Assurance Reviews (CAR) and monitoring tasks.
  • Assist the First Line to develop and implement relevant changes to procedures and controls.
  • Assist with the sanctions program including keeping up to date with relevant sanctions requirements.
  • Assist to compile and report on compliance activities to the Enterprise Risk Committee, the Board Risk and Compliance Committee, Board Audit Committee, and Board Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Collaborate with and share knowledge with compliance team members, Enterprise Risk Management, and Internal Audit to support and promote an effective Three Lines of Defence model.

Your Skills & Experience:


  • Recent Graduate in Law or junior lawyer or compliance professional
  • A good understanding of the regulatory requirements of insurance within Australia and New Zealand with the ability to interpret regulation and legislation
  • Planning and Organising plans and schedules tasks so that work is completed on time, prioritizes competing tasks and allocates time and resources effectively, prepares logical plans to achieve objectives;
