THE CLIENT


Our client, an established national wholesale distributor of timber in Australia, has a long-standing and impeccable reputation within the industry.

With offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney, they are renowned for their dedication to quality and customer service.

Their Melbourne Production team, located in Clayton South, is seeking a dynamic Dispatch Coordinator to join their close-knit and energetic group.


THE ROLE

ABOUT YOU
Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Proven experience in customer service.

Demonstrated change management and leadership abilities.

Adaptability and flexibility to handle evolving requirements and navigate ambiguous situations.

Exceptional ability to remain composed under pressure and make effective decisions.

Demonstrates resilience, energy, intelligence, and street smarts.

Over 5 years of experience in a similar role, including exposure to 3rd party logistics.
Solid knowledge of transport services and systems.


Profound understanding of relevant legislation, including but not limited to OH&S regulations, duty of care responsibilities, chain of responsibility legislation, and Drug & Alcohol policies.

Proficiency in budgeting and financial systems.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategically plan carrier loading to ensure accurate, cost-effective, and efficient order deliveries that meet customer requirements and enhance the reputation of our client.

Oversee and ensure the efficient and profitable performance of the transport operation.

Continuously focus on improving all aspects of transport management.

Develop the capability to provide timely reports.

Ensure accurate dispatch of stock with the appropriate paperwork.

Manage transport spreadsheets, update dispatch allocations, and maintain GPS software.

Implement quality control procedures for outgoing orders to ensure Delivery In Full On Time (DIFOT).

Keep records of rates for all carriers to facilitate the review and approval of carrier invoices.


Collaborate effectively with other teams to ensure orders are prepared for timely delivery/pickup and inform the yard team about incoming shipments for proactive planning.

Manage all documentation related to stock receipts and dispatches.
