Are you an experienced Environmental Leader looking for the next step in your career? Our client is a leading Mining Operator based in Perth, with a long history of successful operation.

They are seeking a skilled Environmental Superintendent to join their team.

This exciting full-time role is a site based role on a 4:3 or 8:6 roster across their port, rail and mining operations.

As a Environmental Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental management and compliance


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide input and support into the strategic direction of the business and provide timely advice to the business regarding relevant environmental legislation and permitting requirements
  • Interpret legislation, government standards and agreements and provide informed commentary, improvement opportunities and risk management strategies
  • Promote environmental awareness, leadership, and guidance on environmental matters to sitebased personnel
  • Provide required information to support the granting of all necessary environmental approvals
  • Implement and manage the Environmental Management System and coordinate and execute environmental monitoring
  • Provide direction to the environment team and contractors to ensure behaviours, actions and attitudes align with the company's core values
  • Provide ongoing guidance, support, and relevant training opportunities for your team, supporting their professional development and performance

To qualify for this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or similar qualification in Environmental Management
  • Substantial experience in a supervisory environmental function of large teams within a relevant industry
  • Mentoring and supervisory experience and a passion for building capability within a team
  • Solid understanding of operational functions within a relevant industry
  • Solid understanding of Western Australian environmental legislation and framework in particular, EP Act, EPBC Act and Mining Act
  • High level report writing skills
  • Substantial experience in undertaking environmental audits, inspections, and investigations, with formal audit and investigation qualifications highly desirable
