About the Opportunity


SafeWork SA is looking for someone that is enthusiastic about leading and working with people, and keen to use their skills and aptitudes to positively influence safety.

This role is an opportunity to shape work, health, and safety in South Australian workplaces.

The Team Leader, Investigations will lead, mentor and coach a team of Investigators who are responsible for investigating fatalities, serious injuries, and serious incidents in the workplace.

You will lead the team in developing processes and systems for compiling of briefs of evidence in accordance with rules of evidence and support the initiation of proceedings and prosecutions.

This role will have the opportunity to review, recommend and lead improvements in the quality and standard of investigations. This role will also provide a rare opportunity of contributing to implementing new investigation functions in SafeWork SA.


To be a successful contender you will need to have the ability to interact and engage with stakeholders in a manner that leads to successful safety outcomes.

SafeWork SA is a business unit within Attorney-General's Department and is responsible for providing work, health and safety, public safety, and state-based industrial relations services across South Australia.

As a regulator, our Investigators and Inspectors ensure work, health and safety, and public safety standards are met, and appropriate action is taken when breaches of laws are detected.

We also help people better understand their work health and safety responsibilities.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.

Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C)
