The Senior School engages with and educates students across Years 7 to 12, including residential (boarding) students at our Kew location.

The Head of Learning Area is expected to co-lead the learning area in conjunction with the Head of Learning Area (Pedagogy) to create a positive culture where open feedback and dialogue is created.

The position is expected to lead initiatives that support colleagues in planning and implementing learning and teaching programmes using contemporary knowledge and understanding of curriculum, assessment and
reporting requirements.

Selection Criteria

Appropriate qualifications and experience for leading the learning area with a curriculum and assessment lens
A commitment to educating children in Catholic Faith and Identity in a Jesuit school
Demonstrated ability to demonstrate and foster collaboration and effective teamwork with a coleader leading to an aligned and cohesive approach
Strong experience in the dynamic use of data to inform planning, curriculum development, practical activities and implementation
Experience in ensuring full compliance with VCAA study designs and assessment requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of, adherence to, and leadership for child safety, the Child Safe Standards and an exceptional culture of child safety
Ability to contribute to a dynamic coleadership environment that values selfdirection, teamorientation and the ability to effectively handle pressure in a manner consistent with Ignatian values
Ability to develop, cultivate and maintain professional relationships with staff and in the wider school community.
