Description
The Senior Campus engages with and educates approximately 1400 students across Years 7 to 12, including residential (boarding) students.


The Retreats Leader is responsible for developing, scheduling, staffing and coordinating College retreats in Years in consultation with the Director of Faith and Service.

The Retreats Leader works closely with the Director of Faith and Service and Head of Faith and Service (Years to ensure continuity and appropriate sequencing of retreat offerings and appropriate staffing.


The position is expected to ensure that retreats place age-appropriate personal and social development firmly in the context of Ignatian Spirituality, Catholic Social Teaching and key passages of Sacred Scripture.


The role is also accountable for reviewing and developing compulsory and voluntary retreat offerings to ensure maximal alignment with and contribution to the Jesuit Identity pillar of the College strategic plan, maintaining and strengthening the relationship between Xavier College and relevant community partners.


Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrable commitment to educating children in Catholic Faith and Identity in a Jesuit school.
  • Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School.
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School highly desirable.
  • Ability to meet the Child Safety and Wellbeing and other Compliance Criteria.
  • Capability with programs such as Consent2Go and preparing risk assessments where required.
  • High levels of competence in planning, scheduling, use of contemporary IT systems to improve communication and scheduling
  • Ability to meet the inherent requirements of the role (Core Duties and Responsibilities).
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership through the Pillars of the Strategic Plan.
  • Ability to demonstrate the Xavier Leadership Traits through lived practice.
  • Ability to engage in the full life of the College through a diversity of skills and work capacity.
  • A deep and authentic commitment to the values and intentions of the programs hosted, facilitated and contributed to by the College.
