The Company

Our client has been a global leader in their industry for over 50 years, providing world class products & service to their extensive client base all over the world.

With the Australian business expanding & due to some recent projects they are looking for an Accounts Officer to join the business.

Based in the Milperra area this is a great opportunity for someone to start working ASAP on a contract for the next 3-4 months (possibility for permanent).


The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for:

General accounts receivable functions

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Enter customer payments
  • Monitor customer accounts for outstanding invoices and follows up with the customer for payment
  • Send monthly statements to customers for outstanding invoices

General accounts payable functions

  • Create and maintain vendor files
  • Check, verify and enter invoices
  • Review and confirm employee expenses, including account allocations and GST
  • Prepare payments to vendors and employees

General support functions

  • Assist in month end reporting procedures
  • Perform all necessary bank and other reconciliations
  • Maintain petty cash
  • Assist with employee expenses
  • Perform filing and general administrative tasks
  • Liaise with other departments/customers/vendors

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 2 years accounts experience
  • Relevant qualifications or working towards accounting/business degree
  • ERP experience ideal
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Able to meet conflicting deadlines
  • Accuracy of data and attention to detail
  • Able to work autonomously and use initiative
  • Clear, open, honest and timely communication
