About the Role
Council's Parks & Gardens branch is responsible for the care, management and operation of a comprehensive network of open space and recreational areas across the region.
As a Skilled Park Worker, you'll play a key role in maintaining and preserving the Sunshine Coasts' Sporting facilities turf, carrying out horticultural and landscaping activities, delivering and maintaining efficient and effective day-to-day operation of turf & irrigation management requirements.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support facility maintenance and turf & irrigation management requirements of SCC Sporting facilities
- Provide technical support in turf management to P&G teams.
- Provide technical advice in Sports Field Maintenance to recipients of SCC's Sports Field Maintenance Funding program.
- Assist in horticulture and landscaping tasks associated with plant operations.
About you
You'll enjoy this role if you're driven to do good work that matters for community and as the face of Council, you will provide excellent customer service and ensure work is carried out in a timely manner, while working as part of a pro-active, high performing team.
Your horticultural and turf management knowledge should be extensive, demonstrating a strong understanding of soil science, plant identification, and pest & disease management.
- Certificate III in Turf Management / Horticulture or relevant experience.
- Significant experience in turf & irrigation management
- Extensive horticultural knowledge
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
- Current "C" and "MR" Class Drivers Licence
