About the role
Mater Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a part-time courier
to join the team.
This position will primarily be based at Mater's South Brisbane Campus however may be required to start and finish at other locations on occasion at Ipswich, Logan or Chermside.
The role is part time working 21 hours per week.As a Mater Pathology Courier, you will be providing a high level of customer service.
The management of specimens in the pre-analytical stage ensures the delivery of quality samples for testing that leads to timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Salary range:
$ $32.09 (Operational Officer Level 2) per hour plus superannuation, salary packaging and casual loading
What you'll be doing
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Receive assignments via navigational systems or telephone
- Collection of blood samples from Mater Pathology Collection Centre, Doctor Surgeries and Nursing Homes.
- Registration of samples using preanalytical tracking system
- You will maintain equipment, consumables and work areas in a clean, safe and wellresourced state.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Deliver customer experience of a high standard by ensuring a professional appearance and positive personal interactions.
- Promoting the philosophy of health care and values of Mater Health Services
- Providing excellent patient care and a strong commitment to customer service
- Maintaining quality of service as per ISO 17025 accreditation and AS/NZS ISO/ standards
About you
To be considered suitable for this position you must possess the following:
- A valid Open Queensland Driving Licence with a clean driving history
- A good understanding of traffic patterns
- Availability for AM, PM and weekend shifts
- Be punctual, reliable and trustworthy
- Have strong communication skills, including good customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Good understanding of patient confidentiality
- Ability to work as part a of multidisciplinary team environment
