We require a combined Ophthalmic Assistant / Medical Secretary to join our team for our busy Ophthalmic Clinic located in Subiaco working closely with the surgeon.

This is a part-time position Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Essential Criteria:

Medical secretary experience, preferably in a specialist practice
Previous experience is clinical assisting desirable although training provided
Selfmotivation, problem solving skills and the ability to work cohesively in a small team environment essential
Genie Medical Software experience including billings, bookings, referrals, followup appointments
Downloading, formatting, proof reading and sending out typed medical correspondence
Ability to multitask
Ability to adjust and adapt to practice requirements
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
Provides excellent customer service to patients, other providers and hospital staff as well as excellent communication skills within the office team environment
Ability to work in Australia
Proof of Covid19 vaccination

Duties:

Assisting the surgeon with ophthalmic testing
Meeting/greeting of patients
Answering phones and making appointments
Coordinating and managing clinic sessions
Scheduling theatre bookings and preparing admission paperwork for patients
Liaising with various hospitals, pathology and radiology providers to schedule scans and follow up results prior to clinic
Accounts billing/receipting money, banking
Scanning/entering clinical data
Management of computerised diary
Other duties as required as required by the Practice Manager
