The Role

The APS 5 Warehouse and Distribution officer is responsible for actioning Warehouse, Distribution, and Retail Clothing enquiries directly related to the performance of W&D Industry partners and Regional Maintenance Centre activities.

This role requires a strong understanding of the administration and management of complex distribution movement requests, control high priority demands (particularly with HMA Ships while under maintenance), respond to complex operational related enquiries and maintain Warehouse and Distribution oversight to ensure timely responses to RFI'S and action points.


In addition to the core responsibilities this role will assist with any external Customers, provides support to the JLU (W) Contract Management team and Industry Partners with system support and integration activities.

Joint Logistics Unit (West) provides a range of logistics support to all Australian Defence Units located in Western Australia.

  • Experience working in a similar role ensuring the alignment of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in performing data interrogation and verification activities and corrective action requirements on asset accountability.
  • Welldeveloped organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated highlevel verbal and written communication skills, especially in preparing responses to correspondence, briefs and reports for management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective relationships with team members and key stakeholders to achieve desired results.
  • Proven ability to work harmoniously with external stakeholder and provide SME advice on JLC processes.
  • We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to the provision of innovative and workable solutions in the promotion of logistics best practice. You will have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a bigger team.
