The Role

Location: Graytown, VIC

We are looking for someone to join our team as an APS 3 Weapons System Operator at JPEU. Your main duties will involve operating a variety of weapons, weapon systems, and equipment. This includes tasks such as maintaining operational skills through training, preparing ammunition, managing equipment, radio communications, and more.

As part of your role, you will also be required to assist in wildfire suppression, provide first aid, and carry out construction tasks that require specific qualifications like Construction White Card and Dogman.

This position requires a strong focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement to support Defence's strategic goals.

About our Team

JPEU is a vital part of the Explosive Ordnance Branch in Joint Logistics Command. We play a significant role in enhancing the capabilities of the Australian Defence organization through comprehensive test and evaluation services.

Our work includes dynamic and static evaluations, as well as environmental testing. We operate within two main ranges:

Proof and Experimental Establishment (P&EE) at Graytown, VIC, and Port Wakefield, SA.

The Graytown team focuses on testing various munitions and explosive ordnances to gather essential data for Defence strategies. The Range Services Team ensures resources are available for testing activities, including weapon tests, mobile platform evaluations, and ballistic trials.

Strong written communication skills are crucial for this role, along with the ability to follow detailed instructions, comply with safety regulations, and experience in emergency and bushfire response teams is a plus.
