Exciting opportunity for a Casual Mental Health Support Worker to join our Sutherland Shire team

Infinity Care is looking for multiple experienced mental health support workers to provide support services to assist in maintaining their independence at home.

As a support worker, you will deliver a range of services to the client including social support, respite care, domestic assistance, shopping, escorted appointments and basic personal care.

About the role
-
This role involves supporting adults with severe and persistent mental illness:


  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other staff
  • Provide quality in home and community support to our participants through meaningful activities
  • Promoting participants choice and control in their daily activities
  • Provide mobility assistance by lifting, transferring and hoisting clients
  • Providing personal care with dignity such as grooming, dressing, showering etc.
  • Recordkeeping and documenting the changing needs of clients
  • Following care plans to support participants live more independently
  • Driving participants to community events, family visits, doctor's appointment, shopping etc.
  • Assisting our participants in achieving their goals in line of their NDIS plans

Our requirements:

At least 1 year proven experience working with clients with complex and challenging behaviours

Experience working with clients with mental health conditions:

Ideally, you'll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support or an equivalent qualification
:


  • Understanding of issues and concerns affecting mental health consumers with a working knowledge of and commitment to consumers rights and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Disability Services Act, policies and procedures and Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence
  • Commitment to work flexible hours
  • Willingness to obtain the required compliance checks
  • First Aid Training
  • Comfortable reporting using digital platforms
  • A good understanding of personcentred support
  • Be comfortable supporting clients with intellectual/physical disabilities, high medical needs, or mental health conditions
