Employee Relations Advisor

Full-Time

Total Package $102,760.32 per annum (inclusive of super guarantee)
***The WA Local Government Association (WALGA) Employee Relations (ER) team is at the forefront of providing human resources and industrial relations advisory services to our Local Government clients across Western Australia and the Northern Territory.


As the result of a recent internal promotion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a new Employee Relations Advisor to join WALGA and bring their knowledge of employment legislation and contemporary human resource management practices to a team who work closely together in a supportive, engaged and collaborative learning environment.


WALGA's Employee Relations advisory service will see you providing verbal and/or written advice in response to client enquiries on a range of matters that are within our subscription service summary.


While delivering timely, accurate and practical advice in a clear and professional manner is an element of this role, you will also have the chance to undertake a range of consultancy services like position description classification reviews, and policy and procedure development.

  • Help build the capacity of Local Governments by undertaking activities such as the development of resources, and the development and delivery of presentation materials and information for training, webinars and seminars
  • Contribute to sector advocacy positions
  • Expand and consolidate your industrial relations knowledge across both Federal and State employment legislation
  • Learn from senior members of the team with significant experience across industrial relations, law, and human resources.
  • A desire to be part of a collaborative team
  • Demonstrated experience in providing a range of human resources and industrial advice to external and / or internal stakeholders
  • Excellent customer service skills with an ability to identify and meet a customer's needs
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and manage work to meet timeframes
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources and or industrial relations or a related field is essential
  • Knowledge of the role of Local Government _(desirable but not essential)_
