The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quality Assurance Officer to join our small Quality Management System Team.

The role of the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA)


Quality Assurance Officer is to work within a small team to maintain Defence Aviation Safety Authority's (DASA) ISO9001:2015 QMS requirements certification, assist personnel to achieve business management system compliance, and to assure conformance to business management system requirements.


Specific duties of the position include:

  • Promote and educate DASA staff on Quality Management System requirements;
  • Support personnel to design, implement and maintain procedures;
  • Maintain internal audit program schedule;
  • Ensure timely responses to Quality Management System improvement activities; and
  • Conduct internal audits.

About our Team

The Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) is responsible to enhance and promote the safety of military aviation through the implementation of a Defence Aviation Safety Program that promotes a generative safety culture and independently assures the effective management of Defence aviation safety risks.


DASA is a complex organisation consisting of Headquarters (HQ) elements and six Directorates providing aviation safety assurance and specialist engineering services to the Defence aviation community.


The organisation has a strength of around 300 personnel, made up of Australian Defence Force members and Australian Public Servants, and is physically located in Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT, and Amberley QLD.


  • Understanding of the principles of ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems requirements to enable an organisation to continuously improve performance, processes and systems;
  • Experience playing a significant role in a Quality Management System team, specifically ability to conduct audits;
  • Accomplishment in collaborating with stakeholders to identify, anticipate and respond to their needs and expectations to achieve work unit outcomes; and
  • Ability to both work in a fast paced dynamic environment, whilst maintaining accuracy of information and record keeping.
