About the role


As a Customer Care Officer in our call centre, no two days are the same - each day is unique and equally rewarding.

The position acts as first point of contact taking on incoming calls for all animal matters, the queries range from cruelty complaints, donations, adoption enquiries, lost and found and external agencies.


  • Receiving incoming calls and answering queries on all animal matters with rescue and cruelty complaints being the highest volume of calls.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to members of the public surrendering animals to RSPCA Qld and those who are adopting animals.
  • Provide business support to achieve outcomes for our customers through maintaining and updating records.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and data entry platforms.
  • Develop positive working relationships with your team and provide exceptional customer service at all times.

Who are we looking for?

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively and empathically with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • High level of skill in Microsoft office suite, data entry and the ability to pick up new programs and systems with ease.
  • Exceptional ability to work collaboratively within a multilocation team environment.
  • Good judgement, discretion, problemsolving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Outstanding ability to multitask, manage competing demands & prioritise efficiently coupled with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow processes and guidelines.
  • Call Centre experience highly regarded.
  • A passion to improve the lives of animals.
