Senior Mechanical Sonde Technician - Pressure and Sampling

To support our Reservoir Performance maintenance operations in Australasia, we are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Sonde Technician experienced with Pressure and Sampling assets.

The Senior Mechanical Sonde Technician works within Maintenance Team ensuring on-time delivery of downhole equipment as per operational demands.

The Senior Mechanical Sonde Technician improves maintenance related non-productive time ratio and improves maintenance efficiency of the Reservoir Performance assets within the Maintenance Base (MB) and at the Oil and Gas well sites.

Reservoir Performance operates assets across the Wireline, Well Testing and Coil tubing and Fracturing Services.

The Senior Mechanical Sonde Technician will maintain, calibrate, operational check, service, and repair proprietary downhole assets. The Senior Mechanical Sonde Technician will work on the different pressure and sampling downhole assets.

They will focus on the mechanical section of these assets which comprise solenoids, valves, harnesses, connectors, hydraulic components, motors, pumps, pressure gauges and settings pistons.

Proprietary maintenance manuals and standard work instructions are to be followed to ensure the performance of the maintained assets. Our manuals contain considerable information, which is combined with our technician's practical expertise and knowledge to troubleshoot failed assets. The mechanical technician reports their work within the relevant maintenance systems.


Main Duties:


  • Maintain assigned pressure and sampling assets following the pertinent maintenance programs set out within Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Inspection and performance tests of downhole assets.
  • Disassemble and reassemble the above equipment as part of the maintenance program.
  • Adjust, repair, and replace worn and defective parts and wiring for the above equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and pump components, setup and basic troubleshooting of instrumentation.
  • Utilise equipment, instruments, and specific test tools to diagnose faults.
  • Be an interface of mechanical knowledge of the above equipment and instruments to field users. Advise users of correct operating procedures to prevent failures as well as assist in troubleshooting during failures.
  • Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labour costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD), to reduce downtime due to maintenance and to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Participate in failure investigations.

Other Responsibilities:


  • Use QUEST (safety reporting program) for reporting situations of relevance.
  • Undertake targeted training to enhance skills and identify suitable development courses in technical and management skills.
  • Communicate good / best practice broadly.
  • Ensure company and regulatory standard compliance by implementing the CAT, selfassessments, and wellsite inspections.

Requirements:


  • Reside in Australia and have the full right to live and work in Australia including offshore
  • No travel restrictions and open to relocation in Australia based on company's requirement
  • 2year Diploma in relevant discipline is desirable
  • Experience: Min 8 years relevant experience
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills essential
  • Available to start as soon as possible
