To support SLB Reservoir Performance operations in Australasia, we are currently looking for Field Specialists experienced in Downhole Well Testing.

Applications are invited from people with Drilling Stem Testing (DST), Tubing Conveyed Perforation (TCP).


Base Roles & Responsibilities


This role is primarily located at the base where the successful applicant will plan & execute the delivery of well testing by utilizing a selection of specialized downhole tools.

At the base, the following tasks and duties are required:


  • Client communication
  • DST design preparation
  • DST equipment maintenance
  • Equipment packing
  • Tubing Conveyed perforation job design and SPAN modelling
  • Tubing Conveyed equipment arming with explosives
  • Prepare Resourcesand plan for explosives mobilization
  • Compliance to local regulations for explosives and radiation usage
  • Remove and Secure Resources
  • Verify and Prepare Resources at Product Line Location
  • Deliver and Archive Final Job Deliverables
  • Risk assessment
  • Deploy and Position Resources
  • Evaluate and Reconcile Resources
  • Implement Risk Response
  • Obtain Customer Acceptance of Delivery
  • Prepare Final Job Deliverables
  • Prepare Job Invoice Supporting Documentation

Field Roles and Responsibilities
Occasionally this role may require field work. In the field, the successful applicant will accurately evaluate the production potential of a reservoir by conducting well tests. He/she will ensure safe execution of tubing conveyed perforation with explosives. In the field, the following tasks and duties are required;

  • Capture Field Data through Drill Stem Testing technology
  • Tubing Conveyed equipment arming with explosives
  • Prepare Resources and plan for explosives mobilization
  • Compliance to local regulations for explosives and radiation usage
  • Remove and Secure Resources
  • Verify and Prepare Resources at Product Line Location
  • Deliver and Archive Final Job Deliverables
  • Deploy and Position Resources
  • Evaluate and Reconcile Resources
  • Implement Risk Response
  • Obtain Customer Acceptance of Delivery

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensures that people, equipment and materials arrive on time on location, and are rigged up, tested and ready to perform the job with no deviations from SESS (Specific Equipment and Site Safety) standards and contingency plans in place.
  • Ensures pre job meetings are held with Surface well testing, TCP/DST Personnel, Client and third
- party personnel. Is accountable for the complete Service Delivery process to the Client.

  • Executes successful jobs as per the design provided and approved by the Client.
  • Recognizes risks associated with the operation and reduces these risks to as low as reasonably possible.
  • Identifies any potential unplanned changes to the job program at the well site and initiates the district's Management of Change procedure(s).
  • Prepares job design including gun planning, SPAN modelling to determine charge performance
  • Ensures that all well testing employees and contractors at the work site are in compliance with TCP/DST Safety Standards and other, relevant standards.
  • Ensures that all personnel assigned are competent to drive and/or operate their assigned equipment.
  • Completes all the required pre and post job paperwork and job tickets on time and without errors as per company policies.
  • Ensures preventive maintenance on downhole equipment are as per TLM standards and safe, clean and proper working condition for the next service job.
  • Perform CAT Self Assessments to ensure compliance with DST/TCP and SLB QHSE Standards.
  • Participates in the District HS&E & Quality initiatives and programs (e.g. SOIM's, Risk Assessments, Quality Improvements, Emergency Response Plan, HSE and SQ Objectives, LPT and SQC).
  • Performs Risk Analysis (e.g. HARC, JSA) before each job or task and identifies & addresses potential safety hazards. Corrects and report hazards immediately in QUEST or to Super
