Horticulturist
- $75,277 Per Annum plus super with up to $954.22 allowances

7am to 4pm Monday to Friday plus a fortnightly rostered day off
Paddington location
Permanant role

POSITION PURPOSE:

To carry out horticultural maintenance and cleaning in open spaces, sports fields, bushland and streets throughout the Woollahra Council municipality. Duties include the maintenance and renovation of gardens, weeding, pruning of trees and shrubs, turf maintenance, landscaping and general cleaning including daily litter pick up, to Council standards and as directed.
Safely operate necessary plant and equipment, such as lawn mowers, ride on mowers, whipper snippers, blowers and other mechanical plant, to achieve job objectives.
Carry out and record responses to service complaints and action requests.
Ensure workplace health and safety is paramount in all work undertaken.
Carry out open space cleaning such as litter pick up and graffiti removal.
Carry out Garden and Turf maintenance.
Design and implement landscape and maintenance improvements in Open Space areas.
Assist with any other duties that may be reasonably determined from time to time as directed by the Team Leader or Coordinator.

Essential Criteria

Certificate III in Horticulture, or completion towards or equivalent.
Experience in the use and maintenance of small plant equipment.
Demonstrated extensive practical experience in a similar role with high profile scheduled maintenance sites.
Commitment to the provision of excellent customer service.
Demonstrated ability to contribute and work as part of a team and coordinate team members as required.
Welldeveloped communication skills with experience in dealing with the public in high profile areas.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work with mínimal supervision.
Proven problem solving skills and a willingness to follow issues through to completion.
