    Account Executive, New Verticals - Sydney, Australia - Afterpay

    Description

    We are seeking a candidate to effectively lead a business within Afterpay ANZ. You will be responsible for shaping new vertical strategies and acquiring key merchants in areas such as insurance, telco, and utilities. Identify opportunities for best practices that can scale across the business.

    • Establish a robust pipeline of sales opportunities, manage its development, and provide accurate sales forecasts to senior management.
    • Grow long-term profitable partnerships that benefit Merchants, Customers, and Afterpay. Focus on building a sustainable and profitable business.
    • Develop new sales strategies and target high-value prospects.
    • Understand merchants' business goals and decision-making processes to position Afterpay as a valuable solution for potential clients.
    • Conduct solution workshops, prepare sales proposals, and coordinate related activities.
    • Build and nurture multi-level relationships within merchants for long-term partnerships.
    • Stay informed about competitors' payment solutions, market strategies, and value propositions to differentiate the Afterpay experience.
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Brand, and Commercial teams to share insights and drive growth.
    • Engage in C-level external and internal interactions and manage stakeholders effectively.
    • Enhance the Merchant Value proposition, establish marketing best practices, and monitor performance with partners.
    • Advocate for Merchants within the Afterpay business to ensure continuous product evolution and exceed customer expectations.

    Qualifications

    • Proven track record in securing new partnerships and achieving sales targets with large enterprises in Australia.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in B2B sales, preferably in payments, ecommerce, or fintech.
    • Strategic problem-solving skills to deliver innovative solutions and drive commercial value.
    • Effective negotiation and deal structuring abilities to achieve win-win agreements.
    • Expertise in creating compelling value propositions tailored to customer needs.
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
    • Understanding of digital marketing solutions and market trends.
    • Knowledge of customer segments, focusing on industries undergoing digital transformation.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.
    • Positive, energetic, results-driven individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.
