About the Role:
Provide high level of technical advice & expertise to support the Product Strategy. Included is the support and involvement in technical standards, and the development, implementation, and administration of supplier standards.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely to support Apparel Technical design lead, ensuring any business critical/hot topics are raised in a timely manner.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team with your design partners in Melbourne and KAS to ensure product & fit, align with design aesthetics.
- Constant interpretation of technical fit standards, procedures and general information which are then communicated to relevant team members.
- Respond quickly to change with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new ways to work and achieve objectives.
- Ensure all apparel critical path timelines are met.
- Partner with crossfunctional teams to align on product performance standards as it pertains to brand integrity.
- Partner with Design team on prototype / Production tech pack development.
- Evaluate fit and construction of proto samples ensuring clear direction of design aesthetic, fit intent and construction.
- Support on fit sessions with KAS on live model / video and communicate fit/construction corrections to vendors via written instruction, flat and on body measurements and digital images.
- Support primary and secondary block development projects across apparel.
- Track and manage workflow and ensure seasonal calendar deadlines are met.
- Establish fit standards to ensure consistency across product categories.
- Identify potential production, fit, and/or costing issues and provide upfront recommendations and solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of product development process from concept through production, including pattern making, construction, costing, manufacturing and materials.
You will need:
- Degree qualification in Pattern Making, Pattern Grading, Garment Construction, Garment Production or similar, experience of 3D pattern making preferred
- Used: High degree of technical acuity in regard to pattern making, sizing, and grading.
- Recognising fit and workmanship inconsistencies and understanding effective methods for addressing such concerns at a largescale production level.
- Extensive experience of working with large scale apparel manufacturers, and the technical production methodologies related to production pattern development.
- Experience using PLM systems, Illustrator &/or 3D Design Tools for creating Tech Packs, approving samples and communicating with suppliers.
