The Opportunity:


Our Federal Government Client is seeking an
EL1 Assistant Director - Pricing Policy who is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the NDIA's interests across a range of forums.


Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Sound decision making taking into account the data, public submissions, working group consultations and the broader market impacts to inform policy development.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment where decisions may be based on limited data, and to navigate through ambiguity with strong analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Project management oversight for the development of key projects with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery on time to the expected quality.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to achieve desired outcomes and to maintain strong, productive working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate complex and sensitive issues verbally and in writing to a range of audience.

Essential criteria:


  • Providing direction regarding data scope, analysis, quality assurance and visualisation for pricing and costing policy reports including strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise and coordinate complex information.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively by listening to differing views to develop a clear understanding of the issues, and to present persuasive responses.
  • Ability to communicate complex and sensitive issues to influence decisionmakers in writing including executive brief, working group papers and consultation papers, as well as verbally with working groups, senior management and staff.
  • Ability to clearly articulate evidence based pricing decisions for NDIS participants, providers and the disability sector in writing through the Annual Pricing Review report as well as verbally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed strategic thinking including vision, perception and evaluation skills and the ability to assess impacts, governance and compliance.
  • Ability to develop, implement and communicate the strategic direction of the work area.
  • Project management of external consultants by determining research scope and ensuring outputs align to the NDIA's pricing strategy.
